About Us

Silver Ball PR are the communications experts behind Cheltenham Fashion Week. From organising press launches to coordinating the media coverage, our team have it covered.

A key part of Cheltenham Fashion Week is to give young people opportunities to gain valuable experience whether that be in fashion or a related industry. Silver Ball PR is delighted to support this core objective and as a result have hired three fabulous apprentices to help deliver the PR campaign. Working alongside our experienced team of consultants, Alex, Ellie and Esther will be getting a warts and all experience of life within a PR agency.

From now until the end of September, this blog will give you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of what goes in to making a large event like Cheltenham Fashion Week happen. Stay tuned and see what it is really like to be an intern at a successful PR firm working on Cheltenham's very first Fashion Week.

Alexandra Crisp
They say the best PRs have a solid journalism background so Alex's English Literature and Journalism degree at Roehampton University will stand her in good stead for the future.
After working on the development of the Royal Horticultural Society's first Chelsea Flower Show iPhone app last year as a journalist and promoter, Alex fell in love with the PR and marketing side of things and has been hooked ever since.

Alex has an impressive CV having been Head of PR at HerUni.com, an online magazine for female university students.

When not working, Alex can usually be found doing one of her three favourite things: flicking through the pages of Grazia, attending fashion events in London or sipping on a Chai Tea Latte in Starbucks with a good book.

                     Ellie Mainwaring
PR is Ellie's life. Studying at University College Falmouth for a BA(Hons) in Public Relations gave Ellie the bug.
Born in Cheltenham, Ellie has lived in The Cotswold’s all her life. She is a vibrant, charismatic and committed member of the team who absolutely loves brainstorming for imaginative campaigns. Ellie has a range of experience of working within hospitality, fashion and beauty PR.

She enjoys surfing and sandy beach walks with her black Labrador Henry. Ellie also has a keen interest in performing arts and musical theatre. As a creative individual, Ellie also enjoys interior design and loves to travel. She has visited destinations such as The Maldives, Egypt and New York.

Esther Newman
Growing up in rural Stroud meant that moving to central Birmingham for university was a bit of a wakeup call for Esther. She survived though and has recently graduated with a 2:1 degree in Philosophy with honours.

While at university she contributed to her uni paper, Redbrick, in the Life&Style section. She wrote loads of articles, alongside establishing a weekly ‘street style column.’ During her time within the Life&Style section, Esther fell in love with journalistic writing, enjoying a freedom that writing academic philosophy essays didn’t give.

Travel is something Esther knows will be a lifelong passion. Spending two months in south East Asia and over a month hopping around the Greek islands, Esther is certainly a sun worshiper, however the snowy freezing French Alps also entice her. She spent a winter working for Mark Warner, hitting the ski slopes day in, day out.
